Elan Bearnais Basketball Club Acquisition

The Elan Bearnais basketball club competes in the top professional league in the country. Situated in the southwestern French town of Pau, the club has amassed nine league championships and is regarded as one of the top clubs in Europe. The team plays in the third largest arena in France, the Palais de Sport which seats 8,000 fans. Elan Bearnais has a very strong youth academy and has produced more NBA players than any other team in France (over 20).

CounterPointe Sports Group acquired the controlling interest of the club in July of 2021. With the purchase of the club, CSG also will control the Palais de Sport arena and all activities (basketball and non-basketball event) as well as contractual marketing and revenue rights to the adjacent Zenith Concert Hall – a state of the art 5,500 seat arena.

Real Estate

Adjacent to the Palais is a 15+ acre plot of land that has been acquired by CSG – the goal is to build a fully sustainable and green complex which will house a four star hotel, 3,000 seat amphitheater, full gym and training facilities, restaurants, bars and interactive sports and entertainment retail shops. This complex will not only complement the 250+ events happening each year at the Palais and Zenith, it will also draw from local and regional citizens seeking another entertainment and dining experience.

Tokenization Model

Our mission has always been to allow “ownership” and economic interest of the club to be held by the fans of Elan Bearnais. As soon as this season, CSG will hold a token event where fans and investors alike will have the opportunity to purchase a fractional interest in the club and real estate project. The regulatory process is in motion to run this event out of France. It will be the first time anywhere in the world that a professional sports team has ever completed a token sale for economic interest in the club and the surrounding real estate
